waikamoi preserve
i spent the majority of today here in this hawaiian rain forest looking for native birds. it was magical, no really, the climate is unbelievable and the sights so unique to this area.
this is the ohia lehua which can only be found blooming in very few spots on the island.
this was one of my only birds i was able to capture,
their songs though, are still echoing in my ear.
i believe this is the 'apapane. one of the six native birds that can be spotted. we were guided by a super knowledgeable and passionate bird photographer who you will meet tomorrow after i download the rest of my pictures.
hope you like ferns and moss!
