A Hurricane of Memories
I love walking into a room where you know dreams are coming true. The planning and the details are all coming together like a big hurricane, oh no wait, a hurricane?! Yes a hurricane or two. I am sure Ryan and Katherine didn't dream their Maui wedding would end up in the middle of some crazy weather, but what I witnessed was that they were so focused on each other and the glory of this dream that the hurricane became part of the day and simply ended up being the butt of all the jokes. Take that Julio and Iselle!
Ryan showing off his sweet vow book and his tie clip with the coordinates of Olowalu Plantation House in Lahaina, the venue for what would be an epic day.
In the bridal room at Olowalu Plantation House white lace and soft pinks adorned all the girls.
I guess if your wedding involves two hurricanes you might have to be on some palm tree clean up duty. Ryan (and I) did it with a shaka and a smile while we waited for the bride to be to arrive for their first look. This palm tree row is one of the stunners of the Ololwalu Plantation House property.
Did you get a look at the perfectly lovely rustic bouquet by the lovely Mandy Grace Designs. Her work for this wedding was delicate and subtle yet so so stunning!
Just look at this bridal party, they were flawless. I adore this saloon set up Ashley Camper of Ashely Camper Weddings put together. She is remarkable to work with, I am so thankful I get to witness the way she works her magic.
I adored how this guestbook table reflected the couples love for traveling and how their journey to love grew from across continents. Belle Destination Weddings takes details like this and displays them with so much class and creativity.
Pastor Laki is a Maui wedding photographers dream because he is always making people laugh and has the greatest eyes and hand gestures. Fist bumping and everything!
This wedding venue is so stunning and captured the guests attention with so much charm and natural beauty. But what I love about it is the ease it puts people at, you have to relax being so close to the ocean. And of course these two wrote their own vows, my favorite!
This is just part 1 friends because this day was really just too beautiful for one post. This is when being a Maui wedding photographer really is the best, when you meet couples who ooze authenticity, good taste and don't let two hurricanes put a damper on their day. I can't believe their day went off without a drop of rain. Belle Destination Weddings and Events coordinated with so much effortless style and grace. Lena had all the hurricane backup plans any bride could ask for!
